We do not realize,
We do not know,
Lives that were lost,
So long ago.
When I stood there looking down at a soldier’s grave, it hit me. This soldier is only known only unto God. His family never got to say good-bye, and do not know where he rests. He could have been a boy, he could have been a young man. This soldier fought so that we may be free. He gave his life in exchange for our freedom. There are thousands of graves that are unknown. There are thousands of families who can only imagine where their ancestors rest. This was the price these soldiers were willing to pay.
